Waffle at Pancake Cottage

There is a reason breakfast is the most important meal of the day. You need the perfect fuel to start your day, and Catalina Island will not disappoint with its array of choices. From healthy to decadent, Catalina has a breakfast place that will satisfy any craving.

The Pancake Cottage

You can never go wrong with a good old-fashioned breakfast. The Pancake Cottage, located right when you arrive in town, has all your favorite breakfast foods. It wouldn’t be called The Pancake Cottage if they didn’t make a mean stack of flapjacks. It also serves a variety of Mexican breakfast favorites like huevos rancheros and chilaquiles. A personal fave is the waffle topped with strawberries and whip cream.

Cafe Metropole Green Juice

Café Metropole

Want to start your day on a healthy foot? Café Metropole is your place, located in the Metropole Marketplace in the center of town. It specializes in meals that are locally curated and sourced with our planet in mind. Start with the Catalina Avo Toast, a delicious twist on avocado toast. Whole wheat toast served with smashed avocado, over medium free-range eggs and applewood bacon crumbles. Pair it with a cold-pressed juice from the juice bar for a winning combination.

Greek yogurt bowl from Toyon Grill

Toyon Grill

Located in the Catalina Island Conservancy’s Trailhead, Toyon Grill offers delicious food with a spectacular view of Avalon Bay. Their mission is to serve hyper local, sustainable fare celebrating the best of Catalina Island. Some must try favorites are the breakfast tacos and Greek yogurt bowl.

French toast from Jack's Country Kitchen

Original Jack’s Country Kitchen

There is something about breakfast that screams comfort food. Located on Sumner Ave. just a few doors up from the Green Pleasure Pier, Original Jack’s Country Kitchen serves you hearty meals just like your mom used to make. This old-school diner specializes in classic favorites like steak and eggs and an omelet customized just how you like it. On the sweet side, their famous Portuguese French Toast is a must try.

Cinnamon Roll from Catalina Cookie Co.

Catalina Coffee & Cookie Co.

In a hurry? Grab a cup of coffee and decadent pastry at Catalina Coffee & Cookie Co. This lovely coffee shop located in the Metropole Market Place is perfect place to stop and get a quick bite eat on your way to your next Catalina adventure. Serving a variety of coffee drinks like their famous chocolate or white mocha, a coffee-lover will find something fun to drink. The cinnamon rolls are to die for with the gooey icing. A can’t miss when I’m on the Island.
