For golf enthusiasts, Catalina Island has a unique course with incredible views and history. The Catalina Island Country Club and Golf Course is the oldest operating course west of the Mississippi and the former home of the Bobby Jones Invitational Tournament. Originally built in 1892 as a three-hole course, this 2,100-yard course now offers nine challenging holes, with two sets of tees for 18-hole play.a group of people on a golf course

The long, narrow course meanders through a canyon setting toward the ocean, offering stunning views of Avalon Bay and the iconic Casino. Deer, hawks and Catalina Island foxes frequent the area as they watch golfers score their winning shot.

The greens and deep bunkers are a challenge to any golfer, so be prepared for a fun game. If you forget anything on the mainland don’t worry because the Pro Shop has all you need to play a round including clubs and golf carts.

After a thrilling round of golf, some good food and drinks are in order. Conveniently located right across the street, the Sand Trap has a full street taco bar with your choice of beef, chorizo, chicken and carnitas. During Happy Hour, you really can’t pass up the tacos for two dollars each, especially paired with a $6 margarita.

For the little ones or those young at heart, Catalina also has a fun miniature golf course, Golf Gardens. Nestled in an idyllic garden setting less than one block from the beach, the miniature golf course is the ideal spot for an afternoon of family fun. This unique 18-hole course has been a much-loved fixture on the Island for nearly 50 years. Known in mini-golf circles as one of the world’s most beautiful and challenging courses, Golf Gardens’ classic styling and award-winning layout make for an unforgettable experience that’s sure to be a highlight of your stay on Catalina Island.

Friendly competition always works up an appetite, so a delicious meal at Original Antonio’s Pizzeria & Deli is a great place to grab a bite to eat. Located on Sumner Avenue, it has a great variety of classic and specialty pizzas. If pizza isn’t what you are craving, they also have various pasta dishes, salads, sandwiches, and delicious desserts. The family friendly environment makes for great place to stop for lunch or dinner.
