Summer Events on Catalina Island

Summer Beach Bingo

Experience Bingo island-style! Plop your beach chair on the sand of South Beach and play a few rounds. Playing cards are only $1 each and winners receive local prizes. Beach Bingo is held every Tuesday and Thursday starting June 18 – August 29 at 6pm – 7pm.

Descanso Beach Club Events

Join the party on summer afternoons at Descanso Beach Club. Every Saturday, a DJ will get the party started spinning tunes. On Sunday, local artists will have the crowd on their feet with live music.a young boy standing next to a body of water

Kid’s Fishing Derby

Give your little ones the chance to reel in a big one with special instructions from a fishing guide. Prizes will be awarded each week! This free activity occurs every Wednesday at the end of Green Pleasure Pier starting June 19 – August 21 at 7am – 9am.

2019 Concert Series

The Catalina Island Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau, The Perfect Event and Xceptional Music Company are pleased to present a free, family-friendly concert series, next to the Avalon Bay on Wrigley Plaza Stage. A beer and wine garden is available at many of the concerts. Concerts run through September 2019.

First Fridays at the Museum

First Fridays encourage residents and visitors to explore the museum’s galleries and digital theater, enjoy refreshments and snacks in the outdoor plazas and shop in the Museum Store. Events may include music and dance performances, lectures, gallery talks or films.a close up of a window

Movies at the Museum

Avalon’s beautiful summer nights are the ideal setting to take in a classic film at the Catalina Island Museum during Movies at the Museum. This summer program was designed to offer people of all ages an option to enjoy the museum after hours. Catalina Island and magic are the main themes explored in this year’s program.

Windward Beach Cleanup

Volunteer in the great outdoors while combing the sand for debris to help keep our windward beaches pristine. Clean-up locations like Shark Harbor, Little Harbor, Ben Weston and Cottonwood rotate throughout the year.
